Fiorano Software, (www.fiorano.com) a leading provider of enterprise class business process integration and messaging infrastructure technology, today released FioranoMQ 9.1.1, the newest version of its high performance enterprise communication backbone and the world’s fastest standalone standards-based messaging server.

The newly released FioranoMQ 9.1.1 implements several new performance-enhancements:

Optimizations in the client-runtime and at the server level result in better performance, both, for Non-Persistent messages and for Persistent messages with Durable Subscribers.

Peak performances now exceed 95,000 messages per second for publish/subscribe messaging in closed benchmark testing.

The performance optimizations significantly improve server scalability in comparison with previous releases, making Fiorano on average four times faster than TIBCO and between fifteen and twenty times faster than IBM’s JMS offering for non-persistent messages.

For persistent messages, Fiorano’s performance is three to seven times faster than TIBCO and five to twenty times faster than IBM.

With all of this added performance, Fiorano continues to deliver the industry’s lowest JMS latency numbers. FioranoMQ 9.1.1 performs with latencies between 5 and 20 milliseconds – an industry best amongst commercial JMS servers.

FioranoMQ is the world’s first grid-enabled, peer-to-peer JMS messaging platform with unbounded scalability and unparalleled ease-of-management via JMX standards.

The technology seamlessly integrates heterogeneous IT systems, improving operational efficiency, business agility and performance.

Leading communications and hosted IT company Outsourcery has launched their new Dedicated Windows 2008 Servers.

The solution will provide growing UK businesses with the opportunity to host business applications or websites on their own dedicated server within Outsourcery’s secure state of the art data centre without having to buy or install it themselves.

As businesses battle to grow in the face of the recession, the mounting costs associated with managing their own in-house server have become increasingly prohibitive.

Now growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which rely upon a server to run their business applications can sign up to a Dedicated Windows 2008 solution and obtain access to a server hosted by Outsourcery which provides maximum performance and complete reliability without the upfront investment of buying and installing expensive hardware and maintaining a server themselves.

Without the need to share a server with other businesses, customers will be able to enhance efficiencies and enjoy greater levels of data security.

Customers can log on to the server remotely and have full control over services and applications running on it from any location.

Updates to the operating system and software installed on the server can also be applied at any time.

In addition, by upgrading the operating system to the Windows Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise edition, customers can also take advantage of the powerful virtualisation features of Microsoft’s Hyper-V technology, allowing them to divide their server into several ‘virtual’ servers, significantly reducing costs and the number of servers they need.

All these benefits make the service particularly attractive to all kinds of growing businesses, including IT firms, IT consultancy businesses, online retailers, e-commerce companies and those businesses involved in marketing and web design.

Outsourcery will install the Microsoft Windows Web Server 2008 operating system as standard, while providing options to upgrade a customer’s server if required, allowing them to benefit from the advanced virtualisation features of Windows Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise.

The servers, which come with a 99.9 percent Service Level Agreement (SLA), also provide customers with security against online threats with a shared hardware firewall.

Mark Seemann, Product Strategy and Development Director at Outsourcery, commented: “Getting your Dedicated Windows Server up and running is easy.

“You don’t have to worry about the upfront cost of buying a server, finding a data centre to host it in, managing and supporting the server or paying for hardware, power and bandwidth.”

“An SME which has two or three servers located on their business premises can consolidate these in to one of our Dedicated Windows 2008 Servers using the inbuilt virtualisation features of Hyper-V.

“This will have the impact of saving costs on the hardware, power and ongoing maintenance of those three servers while benefiting from the latest high performance HP and Microsoft technology,” added Seemann.

IBM Corporation showed off its new microprocessor at the Hot Chips Conference this week, which boasts a lot of strength with a 45nm chop and an eight core standard.

Advanced Micro Devices also debuted its 12 core Magny-Cours device which is based on the x86 based systems market that makes use of a multi-chip module.

Also introduced was the Nehalem EX microchip by Intel Corp which is basically an upgraded version of the Xeon 5500.

Sun Micosystems also has a processor to add to the mix at the Conference, the Sparc-based Niagara processor which is still waiting to get approval after merging with the Oracle Corporation.

After all is said and done at the conference, many people expect the Power7 from IBM to be the standout from the convention due to its ability to support more threads, cache, and memory bandwidth compared to the new chips from its other competitors.

The device is able to use both IBM’s DRAM technology and SRAM to pack in more cache, and is expected to outweigh its competitors largely when it comes to bandwidth, which is important since with the multi-core design the issue it will address is accessing data at a high rate.

IBM is rumoured to already be using the chip in its labs, but will actually begin to ship the processors to the public in early 2010.

Lenovo announced Tuesday that they will soon enter the digital world market by releasing four desktops and one laptop, out of which two can be counted as home theatre PCs and servers.

Two of the units that stand out among the line up are the IdeaCentre Q700 which is a home theatre PC that may possibly take some customers away from HP.

The computer comes alongside the IdeaCentre D400 which is a Windows Home Server computer box. Both of these gadgets will cost about $499.

A Lenovo spokeswoman said that all of the new units will be officially announced on Wednesday but the range is designed to specifically aid in home theatre design and living room or study use.

Also included in the new line of computers at a slightly lower price are the Q110 and Q100 net-tops that should cost consumers about $349 and $249 respectively.

The priciest model is the U450p notebook that will weigh in at a hefty $799.

The release of the computers highlights Lenovo’s continual move into the digital market since Lenovo re-entered the US consumer market in January of 2008.

Consumer products marketing manager Charles Farmer of Lenovo said that the line helps round out the new line of computers from Lenovo, since it was not previously able to offer a storage product that could complement its IdeaCentre and IdeaPad products.

All of the products are on the market now, except for the D400 and the two net-tops which will be released in the middle of September.

HostNExus Inc, a popular webhosting provider, announced earlier today that it will release two new products to the market, to provide reliable, low cost web hosting.

The two new products are known as the Virtual Private Server (VPS), which is aimed at new companies who want strong control over its server, and the ‘Ruby on Rails’ plan that allows for shared web hosting packages and includes the new VPS packages.

The CEO of HostNexus stated that Ruby on Rails aims to provide web hosting services for programmers who do not want to waste time with code.

He further went on to state that these packages are optimal for small websites who simply need a server to host them.

There are of course higher packages for larger websites, with Ruby on Rails packages averaging out from anywhere between $8.85 per month up to $100, depending on what type of domain space and bandwidth is purchased.

In terms of the VPS solution, Flynn commented that it is designed to give clients more control of web hosting accounts at the same discounted prices that are expected from HostNexus.

VPS is based on Web 2.0 applications and ranges in cost anywhere from $30 per month to $85, depending on the amount of requested RAM, disk space, and number of IP addresses.

HostNexus currently provides web hosting solutions to approximately 3,000 consumers and hosts on about 100 servers.

Astute Networks, Inc received a tremendous boost to its standing as a provider of bladed storage solutions today.

At a major press conference in San Diego, Robert Harling, vice president of operations at Astute, announced that an independent auditor, BSI Management Systems America, Inc., was awarding Astute with an official Certificate of Registration for its work in matching the standards of international agencies that supervise quality management standards.

This certification states that Astute’s Quality Management System meets all requirements of the internationally recognized measurements and requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The ISO brings together a network of national standards organizations from almost 150 countries functioning in partnerships with global institutes, governments and industry and purchaser representatives.

This international network manages the use of several regulations known as standards, including the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards of quality and environmental management.

BSI examined Astute’s quality management program for its compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard, and this certification was Astute’s reward for ensuring the highest possible quality in business-to-business dealings.

Astute had to prove that it focuses on meeting customer quality requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer satisfaction procedures to earn the registration.

According to Harling, Astute Networks intense focus on quality standards has been validated by receiving this important certification.”

Harling also explained of the benefits that the customers would receive including additional assurances and the highest levels of standards and excellence.

CoreXchange has said that it intends to include Force10 network switches into its data centre network infrastructure.

The hope is that it will give high-density scalability with the best of Ethernet connectivity.

Force10 will give the company 10 Gb Ethernet switching with high density Ethernet. They consider that this will make the system more secure and reliable.

Force10 switches are well-suited for supporting many bandwidth-intensive services especially in the areas of multimedia streaming, video on demand, and P2P and of course IPTV.

The company says that it will have less management needs as there will be fewer devices taking up less rack space as well as the resiliency features giving less downtime.

Verari Systems has announced a new development in its chosen field of energy efficient data centre consolidation platforms.

They have introduced a new blade that makes use of Intel’s X-25M SATA solid state drives (SSDs) by incorporating them into their BladeRack 2 X-Series platforms.

Solid state drives make efficient use of flash memory for storing and retrieving all types of data.

These flash based units are much faster than hard disk drives. Not only that but in an increasingly green conscious IT environment they also use considerably less power.

Verari have laid claim to the first time Intel SSDs have been married with storage blades.

These new blades not only use less power, they need less cooling, again saving on energy resources and power costs.

The company point out that the new blades give the same server workload but take up less space than conventional hard drives. They see this as a way forward for ‘green’ data storage.

The company managed to combine its high density 12TB SB1056 SATA II Disk Blades and the Intel SSDs after a year of trial and error to produce this efficient energy saving tool.

Verari will make for good support of graphics, server and workstation virtualization and storage, but are mostly suitable for any application that requires huge amounts of information to be stored or retrieved quickly and accurately.

They see this as being practically applicable to IPTV video streaming electronic trading systems, real-time data feed processing that move huge amounts of data back and forth.

The popular web host DemoWolf has released information on its new reseller program. Using this program, it is possible for resellers to earn at least thirty percent commission on whatever sale they bring to the company.

Anyone joining the reseller programme will also receive at least ten percent discounted off the services offered by DemoWolf.

This adds up to at least forty percent of the price of services coming back to resellers.

In order to track commissions, DemoWolf will give its reseller’s access to a back area that allows them to monitor how much they’ve earned, and make any changes to their account.

It will also give the ability to personalise with a company logo.
