The open house was planned to showcase the newly expanded facility, which was finished in late 2007 and made more than 2,000 square feet of supplementary rack space instantly available to customers, says DataPoint.

Through informational kiosks situated outside the data center, attendees were introduced to information from companies including Hatteras Networks, LeftHand Networks, NEC and Cisco, and had the chance to win more than $5,000 in prizes together with a free month’s of service on a new rack within the data center.

The newly expanded facility features include redundant internal network infrastructure, customized colocation space, continuous onsite monitoring and secure access, raised floor environment and multiple UPS auto-failover systems and on-site weekly tested diesel generator.

Curtis DePass, general manager at DataPoint stated “The event really helped us do two things: showcase the data center expansion that was brought about by recent customer demand, and provide a point of contact for our industry partnersWe did so much in 2007, it was great to host so many people interested in learning more about us and celebrating our success.”
