Default XCalibre

A friend of mine has recommended me trying out XCalibre for hosting. There shared hosting packages seem pretty good, but I want to know if anyone is using them and can share their experiences.

I used to use a company called xcalibre many years ago, the service was OK, can't remember why I changed, but I swapped about every year or so for the 1st 5 years I had Internet access from home.

You state in another post about offering hosting & resellers, why would you need a shared host ?

I like to spread my hosting around for a lot of different reasons. For one it is a good way to test out a new host. I might put up a new site on a shared hosting plan while building it up. It seems Google likes linking from unique ips, so in order to manage my sites and spread them out I do this.

Also if anything catostraphic happens, I can quickly move key sites to already existing hosting plans very quickly, if necessary. Just keeps me piece of mind. Considering the price of most shared hosting, it is not much of an expense, but it does key me into a provider's support and service.

I've seen xcalibre around, but never hosted with them - their prices really don;t seem very competitive in the hosting world, so I figure they're targeting UK businesses who are either none the wiser, or else feel they are paying extra for something.
