Adsense - yes - Adwords, no.

Does it help? Well, Adsense brings in an income, but not enough to live on.

I'm in the same boat. The extra Adsense income is nice but nothing I could live on. I still work full time in tech support.

I have adsense but I have never yet made any money on it. I think my account (which is somewhere near 4 years old now) has about 17 cents in it.

I have adsense, and because I don't have a lot of traffic, I dont make that much off it.

I hear Adwords can be costly per click depending on the niche, so I dont use it yet.

It's best to start out with adsense and build up traffic. You need mondo traffic to make adwords work for you

i did sign up for the one where you pay for the clicks, (i get they mixed up lol) but was warned off it so i stopped.

Adwords will work as you build up traffic and recognition. Start with a low monthly and as you build a web presence and the adwords brings you business then increase.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Adsense will help bring in traffic, and if it doesn't maybe you should think about updating your content. Adwords needs a very well established site to work well.

I have worked with both Adsense and Adwords. I prefer seeing the monthly balance with Adsense though as its money coming in and Adwords I just see all this money leaving my account. LOL

I used adsense for a while in one of my blogs, but since it wasn't very productive, I removed it rather than let it take up space. It was doing little for me other than making my blog look more cluttered.

The funny thing about adsense is with two of my new sites an hour after I added adsense I checked and found I got over thirty hits each, but no money.

I hate saying this because I am so anti SEO but you have work some keywords in. I know you've been to my sites and you will see have the adsense responses differently to each page. I don't write for SEO but the keywords come with changing topic. And yesterday I earned 4 cents with adsense. So don't sweat it. Concentrate on you content and it will come together. Also do social bookmarking and get links.

Given the many reports I've seen recently on the problems with adsense, I'd steer clear of them just because of the poor press. I have enough headaches.
