What do you mean by control pannel

I was wondering as to what you meant by control pannel as ive heard of it before but am not complely sure as to what you mean by it.

Yeah. Baiscly it is a way to manage your hosting account such as website stats, back-ups, auto-script installations, e-mail, file manager, and other things.

The control panel is the place where you can manage your site. Databases, email, FTP accounts an others.

Well, yes good hosts have cPanel, which is the best and by far the easiest to use and most user friendly.

A Control Panel is a Section of your hosting account that lets you administrate everything about your hosting account, the MySQL databases, the FTP, hotlink protection etc. etc.

It's like the dashboard and controls of your car.

Is there a reason to need to use this functionality? I typically just use FTP to upload files and Googly Analytics for stats.

Correct me if I am wrong but it covers more than just uploads and stats, but helps with templates, and organization as well as admin type stuff.

yeahs theres alot more to most control panels then File management and stats.

Its usually the place you control SQL databases, email accounts, spam settings, ftp accounts, subdomains - that kind of thing
