Default .tk domains

I currently have one, and was wondering how people look at them in around the world. Needless to say they are free, and have never been down (at least not when I go to it).

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it.

For general use they are fine, for a company you want to be going for .com or you local country's top level commercial domain.

I shouldn't think .tk are going to be pretty good for branding purposes.

.com are much prefered or .co.uk. Easiest way to develop trust from the start that the site is worth visiting, IMO.

Agreed - no branding potential. If you want a domain name for some other reason, great, but I'd never use anything but .com or possibly .net.

tk are popular as free domain names but you can always opt to get rid of pop or frame publicity, and eventually pay for it to gain access to DNS settings and other domain features.

This is much likely WS domains, it's all about what you plan to do with it.
