Default The most you'd pay

Have you ever purchased a name on the secondary market? How much would you spend for a really wonderful domain name?

Depends on what it's worth! I probably wouldn't be willing to pay much because most of the work is still to come.

I would rather develop a name than pay for one.

And you are good at it Aquarian! I'm still trying to decided how best to do this and how best to make my site to pay for itself.

It all depends on what I'm trying to do. Everything is based off of need especially price. And since they range for need to need, that is an open question that has so many different answers.

No matter what you do you have to brand. Now if you brought a domain name but don't understand how it was branded you or want to change the brand concept to suit you are going to lose the traffic. I will give you an example. A national store chain Rag Shop was purchased by a company that didn't fully understand the branding. The new owners start phasing out items sold because they didn't understand the branding concept. Basically it was a full supply crafts and art store. So they pared down the art supplies. Rag Shops just went out of business due to the loss of customers who purchased art supplies.
