Last time I used a free hosting was around 7 years ago.

To use today a free host, that's just like going 7 years back

Paid hosting is always better, free hosts always make you post or put ads in your site and that's not good at all.

I preffer Free, because you don't need to give one dollar, and, if you don't like it, you can change to another host with no costs!

If you're serious about web development, never go with free hosting.

in this life also you get what you paid for so i go for paid hosting as well, you can't demand any features on free hosting.

I agree, plus I don't like having someone elses ads on my sites which is how the free hosting stays free.

Free hosting does not always mean the presence of ads on your site. Taking for example, Awardspace.com. I've been using its free hosting service for a year now and I do not have any trouble with my site. Free hosting is just fine if your traffic is still small. It is always easy to migrate to a paid hosting because they also offer one.

There are some decent free hosting plans. I think these plans are ok for personal use websites. In my opinion, you should always use paid service when hosting a business website, however.

I get my hosting for free, inexchange for helpout the the hosting company with it's online support. It's a sweet deal, i dont pay anything and get a lot of space and banwidth.

I pay for hosting - I have used free hosts in the past, but I prefer to know that tech support / backups, etc are available, and I prefer the security of paying a monthly fee.

That's a nice option. I would love to have the same privilege such as yours.

No kidding!

I use a free host right now but that is because my site is unimportant. When I release my good/money making site, then I will get a paid host for the reasons mentioned above.

Paid. Free is... free and whatever is free is never worth it. Never. So I'll stick with paid.

In this case, often the old addage "You get what you pay for." applies. I prefer paid hosting due to the fact that in my experience, paid hosting is more reliable. There might be free hosting somewhere out there that compares, but I've never found such a plan unless it involved borrowing some space from a buddy.

I think most free-hosted sites look very unprofessional. I tend to click away from them quickly.

What I like the most is that if you pay forb it, you get to dictate how the site flows, what you have and i there are ads!
