Own server or reselling?

For a person with intermediate knowledge about internet domains and hosting what do you thinnk would be suitable for starting his own web hosting company? Is buying a server and setting a data center in the house a good idea or should one opt for a good reseller account from some famous web host?

Im a resseller round 1 year and Im think about to rent a VPS, will get more profit, and is all is ok probably will rent a server in future
