I won't allow oscommerce on our servers - because it requires register_globals "on" which in my opinion is a security risk. All our servers run with register_globals OFF

We use zencart from Zen Cart Support, :: Supporting the Art of E-commerce which is an spin off from the oscommerce project.

I've tried Zen - bloody awful to customise.

OSCommerce was easy to customise, but...there are a couple of technical issues. Annoyed.

The new zencart has a new templating system - to be honest I didn't find the old one to difficult... but there again I have had enough practice!

I like CubeCart the best.
It's the cleanest admin wise, and on the templating size.

Tried the zencart website today - broken pages and the download link was broken. Is zencart going down the pan?

Also rebuilt a OSCommerce site at least 3 times today. I loath OScommerce with a passion.

Someone suggested ecommercetemplates.com to me - not tested it yet, but nothing could be worse than OSCommerce...

I have no problem with oscommerce. Register globals was an issue with zencart too if i remember correctly. When i first used zen cart i was expecting something different not oscommerce in a pretty wrapper.

Zencart has moved on a lot since then - it's now got a XHTML templating system and is a *bit* more SE friendly (and it doesn't require RG on either)

The download link is working fine now? Anyway - here's a DIRECT link to the SF page(s) SourceForge.net: Files

Zencart seems good alternative, one of the plus point-it is easy to set-up.
