Default MidPhase

Alright, I was just reading up on MidPhases site and they now have a huge sale about 25 GB Space and 1.5 TB Bandwidth. Anyone have any prior or present experience with them?

No, but do you need 1.5 TB of bandwidth?

1.5TB is more than many budget servers have

I'd proceed with caution and read the T&C's in detail.

No I may not need it, but it is still nice to fall back upon.

Thanks monaghan! I really didn't think about that. That does sound a little fishy. Probably a rip or something. You think?

I've not used their service as I run my own hosting company. Other discussions I've seen for some of these very large offers does tend to suggest the T&C's can often be worded in such a way that they effectively prevent you from using any more than a traditional £5/month type of package.

Many newbies simply go for the biggest numbers for the lowest price without any understanding of what they actually need.

Many of my customers use less than 20Mb of disk space and less than 1Gb of monthly data transfer

Yeah I use less than 100MB Space and about 10GB Bandwidth when I was running this pretty popular site for some Yahoo pool type stuff. Wasn't too bad.

I have not used them but I have a co-worker that rants and raves about them. Ive never checked out their site until now, despite hearing the singing of their praises on a regular basis LOL. My co-worker uses your same philosophy of hey, I may not need all of that now, but who knows about down the road?

You may want to check out Epinions and see if theyve been rated/reviewed.

Yeah, thanks. I have just read on WebHostingTalk that there are a couple nasty reviews about them. Nasty customer service... things like that.

Don't be too taken by reviews on WHT, often reviews are by newbies who've not read the T&C's and have this strange view that if they publically complain about a company then they'll grant all their wishes.

Look for a few seperate reviews to get a fair comparison.

What about calling CS and asking them what they have to offer? Maybe that will tell how they are to deal with, like say if theyre cheeky over questions, etc.

Those host that provide these kind of services most of them have a limit to CPU usage and they just block the popular site account if CPU usage increase without any notice as they have a lame excuse that it is in the policy and we dont need to inform you. So becare full when choosing that kind of services the packages offered are not logically acceptable (atleast not by me)
