managed and unmanage ?

I have some server experience, but I am wondering if it i just make more sense to go with a managed solution , I don't have to worry about the details.

How far do the managed services go for the typical dedicated server host? Do they manage security issues and the like?

You really need to speak at length to the company you want to manage your box and get a formal service definition and schedule in place so that the box is managed to your staisfaction.

Often the best route is to rent the server and hire in a server management company, then you can have the server you want and the management you want.

If you're on a budget, try purchasing an unmanaged server and then hiring a server management company. It will save you a bit of money as managed servers tend to be quit expensive. But if you purchased the server management from a 3rd party, it'll help your costs. Good luck!
