Is a VPS as good as a Dedicated?

I have no enought money to rent a dedicated server , but want to know if VPS is as good as a server and why?

Vps is good but its not as good as a dedicated server at all dedicated VPS and dedicated server has the same features but dedicated servers have better speed and perfromence

VPS or dedicated?
The answer to this question depends on what do you want to run on them.

High load and you will need a dedicated.
Moderate load, you can go with a VPS.

I want to run a shoutcast server, to sell shoutcast hosting, Now Im with a provider which told me: I think will be better for you to buy a VPS becasue you could sell shoutcast hosting

I would choose a dedicated for a shoutcast server.

dedicated is best if you need huge amount of disk space and you have technical knowledge of managing it while semi managed VPS also gives you some features of dedicated but its not as secure and personal as dedicated

Budget is always a big consideration. You can try VPS for now and upgrade later to a dedicated server if the resources offered by VPS are not enough for your website's needs.

The difference between vps and dedicated is that with dedicated you are the only person with files on the server. VPS is a virtualization environment where everyone gets root access inside a virtual machine, but there are multiple people with these VMs on one given physical server. If you are comfortable managing your sites in a VPS as root, then it won't be any more difficult to manage them on a dedicated server.

Features offered in a Dedicated server are same as the features offered on a VPS server. The only difference is the resources allocated to each plan and the price of server. A VPS has less resources and is offered at a low price when compared with a Dedicated server. So if you need more features at a lesser price, a VPS server is a good option to go with.
