Question Help me im confused about hosting

Hi

I need some help, I have just bought a domain name for my jewellery design business but now I’m looking for hosting and with so many companies and options I’m totally confused!!

I know what I want from my website and I’m not worried about the cost although I do want a competitive price.
  • I need a site with a picture gallery with on-line purchasing options
  • A shopping basket and checkout facility with secure payment
  • E-mail links
  • And NO advertising!!!

Can someone please point me in the right direction

Thanks

I think you are confusing the process of hosting with that of site design. Hosting is simply renting a bit of resource on an Internet connected computer, your list seems focussed on the site mechanics rather than hosting requirements. All of these features can be setup on just about any hosting package.

Naturally, I'd reccomend Monaghan Consultants Ltd!

Drop me a PM or email with your hosting requirements and I'd be happy to sort out a hosting quote.

From what you have posted it's obvious you need to design and e-commerce website and also a hosting account.

There are too many hosting companies for me to mention, and no I'm not going to advertise on this thread The best thing for you to do to get some basic knowledge about hosting is to read some other threads in this forum and/or other forums before you start looking at potential offers.

From your requirements, you start with a Shared hosting plan for now. There are many hosting providers who provide a Free Shopping carts along with the hosting plans. So you can check about that. For accepting Online payments, you will have to install a SSL certificate so that the payments are carried out safely. Emails are provided along with the hosting plans. Regarding Advertising, you can have a talk with the hosting provider.

Having been in the business a long time, remember you don't need to run before you can walk. I recommend you take baby steps. Your website need to be the extension of your business or become the core of it. I recommend that you ask questions, your a small site so you do not need a huge hosting plan. You need a package that includes an e-commerce solution. Remember to ask questions. Do not believe people that tell you that this is an easy thing to do. Your first website is like the first time you were out on your own. It is overwhelming but with a little effort you will be successful.
