Default Hacked

The site was showing a 500 server error - support at Voxtreme said the .htaccess file was showing the wrong information.

Odd - haven't touched it for a while.

Had a look myself and there was a file in the .htaccess with the title "Hacked..." and a claim of being done by a bunch of Muslim hackers.

Oddly enough, they seemed to have inserted a bunch of php errors showing that mambo files could not be reached.

Sad to see this place attacked so quickly - I guess that means we're popular.

I was running the front of site on Wordpress 1.5.2 but will have to upgrade to Wordpress 2.0, despite the less friendly interface.

It seems that although the "hackers" were clever enough to gain root access to your server account they were not clever enough to work out what software you were running

All you can do is keep updated with patches etc and hope for the best

I hope you guys the best. Security is always a key issue on my sites, and I always try to keep our software most up to date. It seems like a lot of these open source projects although great, always seems to have a few exploitable bugs in them. Keep it going, you have a great forum here!
