cpanel stats
Awstats comes with my cpanel (i'm assuming its in every version?) but at times I wish I could have a little bit more control over the stats, for example I'd like to see how many visits people from a particular link usually make...how many people from a particular country order my product, their length of stay and so on. basically just searchable and organized by categories. is there a program out there that I can use? or if my cpanel has awstats and that is its limited functionality am I out of luck?

There are plenty of alternatives to AwStats, but if you are on shared hosting then your host will probably have to install them for you...

Sounds like you're looking more for tracking stats - if so, there's a great thread here listing some recommended options:
http://www.threadwatch.org/node/5850 I've used a basic version of webtrends myself and it was pretty excellent - I could see where someone came in from, what pages they visited, how long for, and when they left. The problem I had with the software is that - at least at the time - usage was charged on a pageview basis, and I really wanted to use it on forums - and they traditionally generate a *lot* of pageviews.
