I always tried hard to stay away from cheapest hosts, I just don't trust them, something is fishy in their business model.

When you don't pay for something, you really have nothing to lose.

I recommend GoDaddy as a Web host. There packages are priced at a fair rate and their servers have amazing uptime. The sites they host for me have never seen any downtime at all.

The only problem is they don't use cPanel. Instead you have to use their own control panel.

GoDaddy? Nah. They are getting worse everyday, they must be taking notes from Registerfly.

Cost is not the issue, it's whether the business model is viable that counts. A small "kiddie host" may well be able to churn out accounts for $1 a go, however this can't last for long as there's a limit ot how many a single person can service.

When you pay more, this does not guarantee you will get better service, however it should suggest a more viable business model. It may not be, that's where the research comes in.

I agree with you. When there are many options, what is the necessary to go with the expensive one?.

If you are hosting a low value or personal site, then cheap & nasty may be acceptable, however if you depend on your site or you have an ecommerce system, then you really want a bit better support, ideally based in the country you live in.

Location of servers can also play a big part of your decision, hosting in a good DC in the country of your target audience can pay dividends in both SEO terms and speed of response of your site.

Select your host based on YOUR requirements after doing YOUR research, NOT from other people's suggestions and you should be fine.

Look for when a host's domain was registered, old domain names usually suggest the host has been in business a while and therefore have survived the initial failure period that many new hosts close down in.

What I want you guys to be clear with is that ,all cheap hosts are not nasty or worst.Due to competition, many reliable hosts are providing hosting at the cheaper rates.

Not sure what your agenda is (perhaps you own a cheap host?), but you keep posting the same thing. No-one has stated that all cheap hosts are bad, however it has been posted many times (here and other forums) that it is often the cheap hosts that don't have a viable business model and go out of business leaving their customers with issues.

Most of the forums I visit, you will find more people complaining about free and cheap hosts than you do for those who charge a realistic price.

As I am being a satisfied client of a cheap host,I just said my point of view, that too according to the thread (cheapest or the best).I had no problem with my existing host. So,what I say is,it is possible to find cheap and best in the same place.
