flash games is a very good option, lot of site which are offering tons of flash games, free flash games tbw

just search : free flsh games and will appear more than 100 sites

Runescape is a great online game that uses java to power it. battleon.com is another great online rpg game.

By open source, do you mean free games to play, or games you can publish on your site?

There are a few browser games on sourceforge that people are allowed to edit and use for their own purposes.
