Default Blogs over saturated?

I read something recently stating that the blog craze has gone overboard now with so many blogs out there it is likely to hurt all blogs and soon you will see them as passe. Do you think there is any truth to this happening?

I don't think it's the number of blogs that are an issue - as much as the number of blogs worth reading. At the end of the day, a blog is simply a website built on a certain type of software platform. I don;t see the type of software platform used defining the usefulness of the website, so long as the content is good.

I dont think the importance of blog may affect due to increased in number, but it would be the matter of quality content.
The blog having updated and unique content will win the race.

I think a lot of people have written blogs but their blogs are never seen or read by anyone other than a few friends or family members. Mine would fall into that category.

I don't know what the harm would be of having a lot of online blogs.

I too think the matter is with content, not an oversaturation of the blog craze. It depends on what you use your blog for. The use of blogs for SEO might not always be viable due to changes in search engine algorithims.

Is the same with websites. There's 87,800,000 results for a "bread" search in google. It all depends on content, and how that content is useful to you.

And talking about Google, that is the reason why blogs proliferate. Most of them are setup in a rush for getting Adsense running or other blog-oriente money making schemes.

Whatever works for them I guess. I just think is an easy way for self expression, without having to build a website.

however that is the problem, when there is not self-expression what people post, but just advertisements :/

I think a blog set up to make money is destined to fail, while a blog set up for quality content is destined to succeed (and possible make money). So I fall on the side of "content is the key."

And I will have to agree with you on that one. Regardless of how many ads, if there is no content, there will be no traffic, therefore no money. Is a cycle really

I think that if money is the focus of any business, the customer will feel that and not return (or buy your product). I've done direct sales, and have only sold what I truly believed in myself. That way, it wasn't about making the commission as much as it was getting the person something I truly believed they would need and enjoy.

Customer satisfaction will bet out everything else in the long run!

It's really all about customer satisfaction - and you don't get that by making it about the money. People can sense that a mile away. If you are doing something you believe in, enjoy, and think will benefit others, then I think the money will find its way your direction.

Or, as in my case, an easy way to add content without having to change a page on one's site.

That is exactly the reason I opted for a blog rather than a page. Is easy to edit and add content.

I do what I can - can you tell that I have a passion for the written word?

I want my blog to stand out because I write, rewrite, and rewrite to make it look the best and flow easily off the tongue!

I just with the world would follow my footsteps.

Nobody can be bothered to write anything these days, I wish more people would write rather than just string together a few TXT words and jargon or pages full of advertising copy. I'm not one for fiction, I hardly ever read a book, but I do really like to read a well written and thought out comment or article.

The number of blogs will never be a problem, as I think was already stated - there are billions of websites, and they haven't crashed yet.

If a blog you werite or know of has good content, then people will visit it and it is really that simple. If it has little or no good content, people won't won't to visit it, it will get no traffic, and it will die out.

Blogs created just for advertising don't work, and as search engines get better, they'll steadily work less and less and less...

Blogging is the magazine writing of the net. Many people don't realize that the best sold articles are rewritten and resold constantly. That's how freelancers do it.
