Default Best admin panel?

Which is your prefered admin panel from a reseller point of view?

My favourite is Cpanel, I think partly because it's the one I've the most experience with.

However, I also think it's the consumer's choice, so doubly important to provide it.

Though I quite like Plesk since they upgraded to a Windows interface, little things about it annoy me - such as having to allow PHP on rather than being active by default.

Ensim has a secure reputation, but I find it slow and cumbersome to you. Really, there's no excuse to sell software that uses tables in 2006.

Not much experience with H-Sphere, but again, annoying things such as having to activate PHP, plus it's attempt to fully integrate with everything and therefore potentially over-complicate issues, create concerns.

I don't think I've ever used Windows hosting, so no experience with Helm.

What's your personal favourite, as a webhost or a webhosting customer - and why did you reach that conclusion?

I voted cPanel. I was using it when it was just a crappy blue framed page but I really liked the change to cPanel X.

I only have experience with cPanel and Helm and have to say cPanel is my favourite as their seems to be so much you can do with it. Helm is very pretty but that does not count for anything if it isn't functional.

Even simple things like controlling where MySql can be connected to from is not a standard option on Helm, well certainly not with my current host anyway.

cPanel get's my vote to - although it is regarded as quite "buggy" compared to other panels.

Ensim Pro is regarded as the most secure control panels which is why we use it on our ecom servers, the other servers use cPanel though.

Best is what fulfills your needs. I know people who swear by HSphere because of the integration with billing already set and saves time and hassle. If your reselling its what will work for your customers but it depends on your market as most people wouldn't know one control panel from another but many webmasters have grown fond of cpanel.

I like Helm, it's so flexible in the back end you can use, cPanel is fine for a complete package, but Helm lets you select the desired back end(s) you want to use. For example, if you don't like Exim, then you're stuck on cPanel.

For a simple beginners hosting system, then cPanel really scores as you can more or less do everything needed to run the box via WHM.

We run cPanel & Helm, I've been tempted to try DA, but customers with an opinion seem to expect cPanel.

Again, cPanel is my control panel of choice. I haven't tried much else, so couldn't really vote for any others.

From a business perspective, it's a shame about the price - for "startups" it's quite a lot in relation to a server cost.

Cpanel hands down, it's easy to use, upgradeable, and fantastico just makes life SO easy. Setting up a blog has never been easier.
