Joomla is complicated when you first look at it, however once the penny drops, it's very flexible. I currently use it for a few customers so they have content control and I have the layout control. My own site is currently being re-designed to use Joomla.

Search for Anna's Tips on the Joomla forum and have a read, this will cover sufficient for the penny to drop.

I purchased several deal sites and I want to try a different design for each the first rncda.com went up last night in what I consider the beta version. It was my first css site. I want to do another site in Joomla but I really don't anything and would like basic tips in design and what can it do for me?

Did you read "Anna's Tips" on the Joomla forum? Until you understand Joomla, you'll get nowhere fast and waste a lot of time.

Once you understand it, then you'll find out what a joy it is to work with Joomla.

I use Joomla as well for a number of my websites. The only problem that I have with the CMS is that the page loads are rather slow.

The page loads are slow if you have to many bots enabled, disable anything you're not using and switch on the cache and you should be fine. Alternatively your host could be running slow, a slow database engine will impact Joomla (and just about any other CMS)

Thank you for that feedback in regards to Joomla. I think I might check into getting another host then.

A common mistake many people make is to enable all the bells & whistles when they're not actually needed, this results in much higher datbase activity and therefore slower page loads as there's more work to do for each page.
