Anyone have advice on directories.

I just installed a Vb link directory on one of my sites. I want to learn a bit about them before opening it for business.

What are your actual aims for using the directory? That kind of helps - I'm not sure whether you're asking about install and admin help, promoting, or search engine concerns?

It's installed on my rncin.com which I will be switching the SMF forum over to a VB as soon as I get a skin I want. The link directory is an adjunct probably to be associated to my Opportunity Knocks column. Obviously, I really don't know much about running a directory and need tips.

I'm curious, why are you switching from SMF to VB? I've been using SMF on one of my sites and am fond of it but have never operated a VB site. What is the primary difference?
