Any free Blog Hosting?

Hi Friends,

I went through some of the posts here in this section to know about free web hosting services. Some of the services like netfirms are just amazing! Thank you so much for all that. I am in need of your help now... Can any one suggest me if there is any FREE blog hosting service? I would prefer a free wordpress hoster though. However, if you know any other blog free hosting service then kindly let me know!

How experianced at running a website / blog are you? If you are a "low maintainance" client - i.e. you know what you are doing and won't require a lot of support then I might be able to help you out with some free hosting and a copy of Wordpress running on it... Condition would be you say some nice things about me and include some backlinks

Thanks for helping me out Tony! Could you please explain me more on that? Well, I am not that noob or dumb kind of! I have been already been running my blog in Blogger.com but I want to move this further on to Word Press due to the exclusive plug-ins and many such features. I can manage somehow if its user-friendly. I would like to give it a try!

I forgot the mention that you would need a domain name - do you have one? They are quite cheap these days anyway and it would be your "own web address". Other than that I could create a sub-domain on one of my domains - either yourname.twdhosting.co.uk or yourname.sexyhosting.co.uk

A domain name?? Buy Tony, I dont understand why would I need a Doamin Name. When I hosted my blog with Blogger.com I was not having a Domain Name. Sorry if I sound dumb, but please guide me. Anyhow, it is ok with me if i have that .twdhosting.co.uk or .sexyhosting.co.uk
Because even with Blogger, we all do have that ".blogspot.com" thing yeah? I think this however depends on the server where our Word Press blog software is being installed. Please correct me if I am wrong!

If you don't own your own domain name then you can of course use the hosting companies domain and just add a sub-domain to it (if they will let you). The downside to this is that site's on sub-domains like blogger do not get indexed as well by the search engines.

It is a lot better to buy your own domain though - the prices are very low and you get your own personalised domain and email addresses etc

Exactly! You can buy domains for 12mos for around $2-8 each, just depends on who you go with. Have you checked out godaddy.com? They have excellent prices and A+++++ customer service. I highly recommend them.

But I am not a professional blogger. I am doing all these to learn stuff! This is why I am not much concenterating on the 'PAID' things. Probably I should consider buying a domain name atleast!

By the way, I personally did not have any experience with Godaddy.com but i have heard most of my friends complaining about the Customer Support provided by the GoDaddy. I have even heard that the support is not very helpful charging us $150 and your site if you complain! Isn't that true

Hello friends,

I finally somehow managed to get back here!

So, how are things?

By the way, asw suggested by Tony, I bought a domain. Yeah it is cheaper as you guys said! I have bought an .info domain for 69INR/yr (+3.4% as the payment was through paypal). Pretty cheap as you all mentioned earlier

So, I have a domain now! What next?

I have even signed up with a free hosting service. It is byethost.com
Is any one else using it? I am feeling hard to install my WP in it

I have raised this query with their support team. Waiting for their reply.

If you guys know about it, then please do help me out!
