AMD or Pentium

I was looking info about AMD and Pentium and Im not pretty sure which is better.

Any one have idea which is better?

for example: my pentium D 3.0ghz in my country is :170 dollars. with this price could I buy a better AMD proccesor?

Depends on what your doing and your price range, if you do alot of gaming AMD all the way unless uve got lots of cash to spend on a Pentium Core Quad 2 or Core Duo 2.

Right now the Pentium core2 but AMD will challenge it soon. It's a ying yang game of competition.
