Default AffordableHost - driving me nuts

When Tina sold the company (last year?) the new management showed they were completely clueless from the start with a complete cock-up of the billing system.

I no longer have any sites with AffordableHost, but check this out:

1. There is no contact email listed on their site - anywhere, for anything
2. Live support is broken
3. You cannot reply to helpdesk tickets

I have now just sent my *fourth* support ticket asking for a cancellation - the past three replies have simply been "management offers you 3 months free hosting".

I don;t want free hosting, dammit!! I just want you to cancel my account and not charge my credit card you bunch of monkeys!!

Yay - finally got a non-generic reply, but get this:

That's just downright unprofessional - after 4 cancellation requests they tell me that if I'm using their automated subscription services, then it's *my* responsible to cancel via a third-party?

Come on, I have a Paypal business account - it doesn't take 30 seconds to cancel a subscription.

Of course, I was then told to reply to their message...which of course, as mention previously to them, is not possible.

Oh my god, that is like the worst story I have heard lately! So have you cancelled it now through your paypal or what? I would just cancel it and never do business with them anymore!

Finally managed to get it cancelled - luckily, it was paid via Paypal so was easy to cancel. If they had my card information directly, I could have had real problems.

Good to hear you have managed to get it cancelled, how did you manage that by the way. Through their support tickets or what?

Wow, worst case scenario.

The only way that could've been worse if you lost all your websites first (Data and all) and they charged you to fix it...would've been classicly funny :-)

Cancelled the Paypal subscription directly via Paypal.

It's not the worst hosting experience I've had, but the fact that a host refuses to cancel billing for you can be very worrying...

Probably because he was trying to be a responsible honest customer and keep his supplier fully informed.
