Default Add On and Parked Domains

Whats the difference between an add on and a parked domain and how does an add on domain differ from a regular domain. My host told me i could have two domains in the same account but that leads to an addon domain option, is there a difference here?

Add on has a different index, add on domain is a domain hosted in a host wich an index, and other stuff.

Parked domains is a domains which share same index as the principal domains hosted.

for example is you park your domain in my host, when somebody go to your domain will see my site, means my radio.

but if your domains is an addon in my host, you have your own index

You use addon domains for other websites (w/domains) under your same hosting account.

Hi,

An add-on domain is a new domain that is added on top of one of your sub domains. It points to a sub directory within your main web hosting directory, and can show a different website. The add-on domain collects the information from the sub domain directory using the same space and bandwidth as your main account, however it won't have its own control panel.

The parked domain is a feature that allows you to point one or more domain names to your website. For example, if you park parked.com to yourdomain.com, they both will display the same web page. In that way you can allow multiple spellings of your website's domain name and thus increase your website visibility.

They are not related.......with an addon-domain you have host several websites with one hosting account while with parked domain you don't need a hosting account, you only need a domain.

Thanks for your info

A subdomain is a second website, with its own unique content, but there is no new domain name. Instead, you use an existing domain name and change the www to another name. The subdomain name looks like forums.domain.com, help.domain.com, help2.domain.com (assuming you already host domain.com). An addon domain is a second website, with its own unique content. This type does require you to register the new domain name before you can host it.
