a VPS for my final year project

Hi,

I'm a final year student in BA Interactive Multimedia at Huddersfield university - I need a VPS to run FFmpeg as I am studying video conversion for my dissertation. My end product will probably be commercially useful. Are there any student discounts anywhere that anyone knows of ?


I would probably need the VPS initially up until April, maybe longer - if anyone could help a hard up student it would be great - the university is offering me a solaris server to develop on - but it would be behind the firewall, no root access and I have to submit everything in triplicate for lengthy consideration which is a pain. I think I'd also prefer a linux server as I at lease have some experience with that flavour OS. Most grateful for any suggestions,
