Leading communications and hosted IT company Outsourcery has launched their new Dedicated Windows 2008 Servers.
The solution will provide growing UK businesses with the opportunity to host business applications or websites on their own dedicated server within Outsourcery’s secure state of the art data centre without having to buy or install it themselves.
As businesses battle to grow in the face of the recession, the mounting costs associated with managing their own in-house server have become increasingly prohibitive.
Now growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which rely upon a server to run their business applications can sign up to a Dedicated Windows 2008 solution and obtain access to a server hosted by Outsourcery which provides maximum performance and complete reliability without the upfront investment of buying and installing expensive hardware and maintaining a server themselves.
Without the need to share a server with other businesses, customers will be able to enhance efficiencies and enjoy greater levels of data security.
Customers can log on to the server remotely and have full control over services and applications running on it from any location.
Updates to the operating system and software installed on the server can also be applied at any time.
In addition, by upgrading the operating system to the Windows Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise edition, customers can also take advantage of the powerful virtualisation features of Microsoft’s Hyper-V technology, allowing them to divide their server into several ‘virtual’ servers, significantly reducing costs and the number of servers they need.
All these benefits make the service particularly attractive to all kinds of growing businesses, including IT firms, IT consultancy businesses, online retailers, e-commerce companies and those businesses involved in marketing and web design.
Outsourcery will install the Microsoft Windows Web Server 2008 operating system as standard, while providing options to upgrade a customer’s server if required, allowing them to benefit from the advanced virtualisation features of Windows Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise.
The servers, which come with a 99.9 percent Service Level Agreement (SLA), also provide customers with security against online threats with a shared hardware firewall.
Mark Seemann, Product Strategy and Development Director at Outsourcery, commented: “Getting your Dedicated Windows Server up and running is easy.
“You don’t have to worry about the upfront cost of buying a server, finding a data centre to host it in, managing and supporting the server or paying for hardware, power and bandwidth.”
“An SME which has two or three servers located on their business premises can consolidate these in to one of our Dedicated Windows 2008 Servers using the inbuilt virtualisation features of Hyper-V.
“This will have the impact of saving costs on the hardware, power and ongoing maintenance of those three servers while benefiting from the latest high performance HP and Microsoft technology,” added Seemann.
