IT workers who are out of a job in South Wales, may be interested to hear that the global group, Logicalis, is creating thirty more ICT jobs as it nears the completion of its new regional headquarters near Cardiff in Nantgarw.

The new location will support a UK centre that can provide broadband networking from a single location for public sector businesses throughout Wales, as well as the company’s own commercial pursuits.

The new £74 million project will also be aimed at providing a broadband network to be utilized by authorities and emergency and health related services, so that public organizations will no longer have to worry about budgeting for broadband network services.

Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport in Wales, Ieuan Wyn Jones, comments that the new headquarters will be integral in providing the public sector with broadband support from a single network and in creating new jobs for the local economy.

A new headquarters is not the only advancement that the growing Logicalis company is making, as it also recently announced that it has received the title of an Authorized Technology Provider from Cisco.

The advancement allows the company to utilize the Cisco computing model and reduce cost while providing new solutions to businesses they support.

Managing director Tom Kelly of Logicalis in the UK commented that the company is pleased to join Cisco as a provider, as the solutions they can now offer will help them broaden their customer base and support current customers in a much more effective manner.
