Fasthost’s customers were left in a virtual blackout, as they were unable to access email to save or receive new messages, a fact that the hosting firm apologized for, stating it was a technical issue.
Email was inaccessible for only about 45 minutes for most clients, but an additional 100 customers faced problems accessing their email that lasted throughout the entire weekend.
Fasthost stated today that it was due to a corrupt system file that some customers were not able to get back into their email.
The Register reported the Fasthost’s customer support was unavailable for a time, leaving customers confused and upset by a lack of information.
Fasthost is not the only email service to report problems recently, as Gmail users are also complaining of more spam over the last few weeks, but Google quickly addressed the problem by explaining a technical glitch was discovered.
Google has since than stated that the problem with Gmail has been resolved and apologized for any inconvenience.
