Microsoft free hosting with Web Deployment Tool

June 4, 2009 · Print This Article

Microsoft has recently commissioned a new trial period of its new platform, with the option of hosting projects without any charge if a certain set of technologies from the software creator are utilized including: Microsoft Web Deployment Tool Release 1, ASP.NET Framework 4.0 Beta 1, and Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1.

Joshi R Vishal a visual web developer at Microsoft said that the intention of the free trial accounts is for Microsoft users to try out the new products before making a final purchase.

Vishal went on to state that hosting product applications on the free hosting accounts is not advised, given the free accounts expire on Oct. 31, 2009.

.NET Framework 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010 were both released last month and are now available for test drives on the official Microsoft website.

The free hosting trial accounts are provided by DiscountASP.NET which is the Windows Server 2008 serving provider.

Users of the free trial may want to make a special effort to test out the new features offered in the software applications including web.config file transformation, web application processing, and one-click publishing with sandbox; a live hosting environment.
