iWeb Reveals New Identity and Site
Montreal, Canada-based Web hosting provider iWeb Group announced on Wednesday it has revealed its new corporate identity together with a new website. The company’s earlier corporate brand was iWeb8 and its website was located at iWeb8.com, which the company has redirected to its new site.
In the press release, the company says “the deployment of the website under the much coveted domain name iweb.com is an important element for the consolidation of the company’s brand.”
The company didn’t say who earlier held the domain, and the company has yet to reply to a call for for clarification, but a quick search for “iWeb” shows an Apple website builder by the identical name, which implies that Apple may have initially laid claim to the domain.
The new website is just the first of numerous noticeable improvements to come, says the iWeb Group. The company says it additionally will launch new products, a new ordering process and revamp its customer control panel.
The corporate identity alteration is not the first re-banding in iWeb Group’s 12-year history. Launched in 1996, the company originally offered general Internet services under the name Formation et Technologies Formatek.
Following a number of mergers and partnerships in 1998 and 1998 concerning SMEs specializing in Internet solutions, iWeb transferred its focal point to providing hosting and server management services, and ultimately re-branded as iWeb Technologies.
