YouTube’s New API

March 19, 2008 · Print This Article

It seems as YouTube has released a new application that makes it possible for its users who own websites to broadcast content from their website. This makes it possible for website owners to install a branded YouTube player that is embedded onto their site. This is seen as a positive push for YouTube towards hosting websites.

The application will even give users the opportunity to change the look of the player by installing different “skins”. Using this new technology from YouTube, website owners can edit vidoes comments, load new videos, and modify any user settings.

The installation of this new API allows YouTube to enter the world of video delivery publishing, where Yahoo! is their biggest competitor.
