Colocation service provider Internet Facilitators Limited announced on Tuesday it has agreed a multi-year deal to host vital network infrastructure for Internet service provider Cogent Communications inside its IFL2 Manchester, UK data center.

IFL is hosting Cogent’s equipment inside its most recent 15,000 square feet IFL2 data center, which comprises rack space within a protected caged environment with dual power supplies. The facility is cosseted by high capacity N+1, environmentally friendly and energy efficient infrastructure, says the company.

Constantly positioned as one of the peak five networks in the world, Cogent says it offers Internet access and data transport services over an 80-180 Gbps fiber optic, IP data-only network. The company’s network transmits over 10 Petabytes per day across its network, with one of the premier capacity IP networks in existence.

Currently hosted at IFL, Cogent’s network allows the company to present large bandwidth connections at cost-effective prices to IFL customers and additional businesses in the area seeking Tier 1 connectivity, reduced bandwidth pricing and data center solutions.
