UK managed hosting provider iomart announced on Thursday that it has agreed a five-year contract with the UK’s foremost telecom operator to supply it with managed data center services. The name of the telecom operator was not revealed.

The contract is worth at least £6.75m spread uniformly over the five year period and excludes the price of power. Additional revenues may be generated from the provision of extra managed services, says the company.

Angus MacSween stated “We are pleased to announce our first significant customer for our data center facilities. The thorough diligence process that we had to go through to secure this contract confirms the quality of our data center portfolio and our managed hosting capability.”

In January, iomart signed a three-year contract to manage all facets of the customer Web platform service offered by UK Online.
