Host Dept. Improves Facility Switches

March 4, 2008 · Print This Article

Web hosting provider Host Department announced on Monday it has upgraded its entire Hurricane Electric data center switches to augment its overall network dependability.

After the company established slight network performance disparity in five of the Hurricane Electric cabinets, it determined to change the previous DELL 5324 switches with two Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series counterparts. All network connectivity is now dispersed through these Cisco switches.

Ivan Brunetti, Host Department’s technical and operational manager stated “Optimal network connectivity is one of the most essential entities within a Web hosting business. Tomorrow, we’ll start on replacing and optimizing all the remaining manageable switches in the data center.”

Host Department announced last month it extended its Valentine’s Day Special due to well-liked demand.
