Go Daddy Backups With ICANN RDE Program

February 29, 2008 · Print This Article

Go Daddy is leading the industry again, and this time as the first web hosting registrar to escrow names and information. Go Daddy has joined the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers Registrar Data Escrow (ICANN RDE) program to backup all of the domain names and customer information it currently has on file. Go Daddy stated that this was not a new procedure to them, as they would always previously backup their data.

CEO Bob Parsons had this to say,“Go Daddy’s customers already enjoy unparalleled, world-class customer support and security. But as the world’s undisputed leader in domain registrations, we feel it is our responsibility to take the lead on this important issue.”
