Future Hosting Offers Support Suite

Web hosting provider Future Hosting announced on Wednesday that it has launched Server Doctor, a bespoke-developed automatic server maintenance and repair software suite, free of charge to its entire managed virtual private server customers.

Future Hosting says that the software is designed to automate server configuration and repair tasks, enabling customers to receive a greater level of technical support than previously available, when technicians had to manually perform these operations.

Server Doctor executes system health and security checks automatically and presents weekly server health reports, detailing information like rootkit scan results, memory usage, hard drive capacity and available software upgrades, says the company. Server Doctor additionally automatically eradicates suspicious files from the temporary directory, rotates log files and prevenst processes creating excessive memory usage.

Sagar Agrawal, Future Hosting chief technology officer stated “Server Doctor allows us to take proactive technical support to an entirely new, unprecedented level. By creating software to executive time consuming operations that our technicians used to perform manually, we can better leverage our resources to provide a higher level of personal service. Most significantly, we can offer technical services that would never have been feasible in the past. This is truly an important innovation for our company, and most directly, our customers.”

Last month, Future Hosting started provding data protection service Future Protect free of charge to all virtual private server customers.
