Expedient to Increase Facility

Managed data network services provider Expedient announced on Monday that it is spending in excess of $1 million in an expansion scheme, scheduled for completion by April, inside its Cleveland, Ohio area data center, located in the suburb of Garfield Heights.

Expedient says the investment supports its expansion plans, which has been in development since early last year. In 2007 alone, Expedient’s business in Cleveland further increased by more than 50 percent, says the company.

Upgrades to the facility comprise the addition of 4,500 square feet of data center room to house over 160 new cabinets and rising power distribution capabilities. Outlay in the electric infrastructure will include two 300 KVa Liebert UPSs and a second 1.25 MW Caterpillar emergency generator, says the company.

Expedient estimates that over half of the new space and infrastructure investment will be exploited by customers before the end of this year.

Shawn McGorry, president of Expedient stated “This addition will allow us to dramatically expand our ability to serve customers with critical services. In a banner year such as we’re having our first priority is to invest in growth with an eye toward exceeding our customers’ expectations.”
