Sedo an Investor in DomainsBot
Domain online marketplace Sedo announced on Wednesday that it has become a minority investor in search and aggregation services provider DomainsBot. DomainsBot provides services to the domain name registrars and aftermarket service providers.
DomainsBot says that Sedo’s investment will strengthen and maintain the quick expansion of its company, providing additional value to its present and prospective partners, including GoDaddy, Register.com, 1&1 Internet and Tucows.
DomainsBot aims to increase its prominence on innovative domain name technologies, together with multi-language name proposition, domain search technology and domain analysis systems, says the company.
Tim Schumacher, CEO of Sedo stated “With the chance to join DomainsBot as a financial partner, we view this as a solid investment opportunity for both Sedo, and the domain industry. DomainsBot has demonstrated a great ability to provide innovative and effective solutions to the domain market as an independent and neutral player, and our intention is to financially sustain its independent growth.”
Sedo will not be effecting a board position or management role at DomainsBot, although DomainsBot says its management will not change and the company will maintain operation from its headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Last week, Sedo said that the demand for aftermarket domain names developed significantly in 2007, setting a new benchmark for the market in the impending years.
