.ca Success Reported by Netfirms

Having registered 45,523 new .ca domains in 2007, Canadian Web hosting provider Netfirms announced on Tuesday it is one of the fastest growing .ca domain name registrars.

Making it one of the lowest priced .ca domains in the business, the Web host offers certified .ca domains for $9.95 a year, says Netfirms.

Up to now, over 160,727 new .ca domains were registered by Canadian small businesses and individuals last year, with over one quarter of all new .ca domains registered through Netfirms, turning 2007 into a record year for .ca domain registrations..

David Hicks, director of marketing and communications for the Canadian Internet Registration Authority stated “Netfirms has rapidly grown into one of the largest dot-ca domain name registrars. CIRA is the not-for-profit organization responsible for managing Canada’s 950,000 dot-ca domain names.”

Netfirms announced last week that it recommends that Canadians secure their .CA domain names in 2008.
