Sedo – GreatDomains Auction

The first GreatDomains Auction of 2008 starts Thursday at 2:00 p.m. EST, online domain marketplace Sedo announced on Thursday.

The auction, lasting until January 24, will feature many highly prized domains, including flats.com, Indian.com, latest.com, test.net and additional one-word premium domains.

This represents Sedo’s first GreatDomains auction since December’s record auction that featured 308 bidders from 42 different countries who bid on an assortment of premium domains including via.com, which ended at $157,500, and click.net, which ended at $56,000.

Accomplished largely in part by the sale of domains like chica.com ($41,000) and fattuesday.com ($16,500), the total dollar amount of the auction reached almost $1.7 million.

Sedo completed its second .mobi “premium name” online auction on November 7, generating $760,000 for generating mobile content tools like taxi.mobi, dating.mobi, homes.mobi and adult.mobi, it announced in November.
