Payment processing application service provider DeepCove Labs has selected IT services and infrastructure provider Fusepoint Managed Services to wholly manage and host the company’s VMware environment, it announced on Tuesday.

Joerg Beekmann, chief technology officer at DeepCove Labs stated “We considered all of the requirements to build a facility that would enable us to meet the stringent Tier 1 PCI compliance standards, but quickly realized that the cost would be enormous. Our goal was to seek a managed hosting provider in Canada that was Tier 1 PCI compliant, and Fusepoint was the only name on the list.”

DeepCove Labs estimates over $100,000 savings in preliminary capital outlay through selecting a service provider that is PCI compliant and capable to encompass approximately 70 per cent of DeepCove’s overall internal compliance check list with Fusepoint’s Tier 1 Level Certification.

Under the terms of the agreement Fusepoint says it will supply a completely managed VMware environment in which its qualified technical support team will fundamentally manage the environment, as well as the hardware, operating system, database management, VMware ESX, firewall security, bandwidth, data backup, and end-to-end monitoring and reporting.

In confirmation by Visa’s Cardholder Information Security Program, Fusepoint became PCI Data Security Standard compliant in November.
